FishFace, the latest Polecam head, is a completely submersible pan & tilt unit and camera housing sold as an alternative head for the rig. The housing will accommodate standard definition cameras sold with Polecam and suitable remote head hi-def cameras.
The head can be used to a depth of around 4 metres (13 feet) on the Polecam although it can be used in a stand alone environment up to a depth of 10 metres (33 feet).
The carbon fibre has been drilled with holes to allow the boom to flood and clear quickly.
Unlike the DiveBag, FishFace has 360 degree pan capability and with fully un-restricted movement identical to that of the standard dry head.
Like the DiveBag, live transition air-water-air shots are possible. The prototype FishFace was used to great effect on the diving at the Athens Olympics and improvements have been made since then making Fish Face more user friendly and more reliable.
Up until now, underwater cranes especially in boats, were reserved for the likes of the Hollywood big budget production. Although it comes with a suggested £7,000 price ticket (10,000 Euros), we think it's a small price to pay for unique shots. Let your imagination continue to wander at what shots Polecam can give you.
