On the 31st May 2010 nine YLE Television camera operators and freelancers including an Estonian cameraman attended a full days workshop, hosted by Polecam distributer Teknoav using their own demonstration rig.

After viewing showreels, it was down to business and hands on practice in the studio with the 5 Pole Rig and Iconix camera combination.

The Rig was assembled in minutes from the bags showing its versatilty and simplicity before exercises were set for delegates to get a feel for Polecams sweeping and gliding movement.

Polecam flying lessons were a success with only a few bumpy landings and then it was out too the carpark to demostrate how simple it is to put a Polecam on wheels, for vehicle tracking use.

Thanks to Risto Varela from Teknoav for organising the day and giving Camera operators (7 men & 2 women) the chance to try the rig for themselves.

The workshop was carried out by Steffan Hewitt and Vic Godding from Polecam.

“I've heard the quote that the only limit to the use of Polecam is your imagination” said Vic, “Well, we proved that today by putting the rig in the boot of our distributers car. We even improvised with something to track, getting Risto to run alongside!”
