Chris Taber has completed several projects with UK Production Services, the latest being a 50cc moped race from John O Groats to Lands End, using the Polecam with a Toshiba HD Camera we managed to make South Wales double for Scotland and Bodmin Moor!!, Director Chris Maure said, 'Polecams ability to relocate quickly was fantastic and recording onto the Flash XDR suited our workflow perfectly, all this coupled with Chris' ability to find unique shots really raised the production levels'.
“Polecam the facts!” according to Producer Carl Wackan of UK Production Services Ltd.

Pedestal TV ‘s Polecam was used this summer as a part of a four PSC crew operation for Telesgop’s production of the Royal Welsh Show coverage for BBC Wales, plus S4C’s “Events” coverage between the months of April and August. It also played an invaluable role in “Y Porthmon” a brand new format recorded for S4C in June of this year involving seven one hour programmes transmitted live each weeknight with pre-recorded inserts recorded and edited during the day.
Polecam's greatest advantage has to be it's accessibility, flexibility and speed between locations. All the above productions involved very fast turn arounds, shot in somewhat difficult conditions, i.e high crowd volume and sometimes wet weather conditions. Shooting easily around all the shows hurdles, Polecam demonstrated high production values at their best. As well as offering quality, alternate angles ,be it low angle at ground level or elevated craning shots the Polecam also gave the in-vision presenter links a whole new dimension.

Chris is currently filming a 3D series called Treasure Houses, for Colonial Films in a number of the UK's stately houses and presented by Selina Scott. Using the Polecam in 3D and recording to 2 Flash XDR recorders, some amazing footage has been achieved. Chris said, "in locations like these it's really a case of what NOT to shoot". The main unit used 2x SI2K cameras, but the flexibility of Polecam allowed dynamic shots to be achieved.
More to follow at the end of the shoot!!!

Chris Taber, of Pedestal TV spent a truly amazing day filming for the Channel 4 show 'Surgery live'. Broadcasting from Southampton General Hospital, Chris supplied and operated one of two Polecam rigs in the operating theatre for 'awake brain surgery'. Using the Polecam zoom lens and a standard 4mm we were able to get high angle geography shots and the all important close ups! The surgeon and his team were very accommodating and allowed us great access. Space was always an issue, but by rigging the Polecam with the elbows we were able to operate without hindering the theatre staff'.

Pedestal TV's Chris Taber was used at Twickenham recently for BSkyB's 3D coverage of the England v South Africa match. Chris was used by 3D and 2D coverage for the teams out and anthems as well as providing some great crowd footage throughout the game. A Polecam Remote panel was used in the Telegenic truck to provide engineering control.
