Polecam is being put through its paces in the extreme cold at the Sochi 2011 winter games in Russia, Polecam performs superbly in extreme weather as it was originally devised by an extreme sports cameraman.

Mark Sallaway of Feedback Systems used a 3D Polecam to shoot the Virgin F1 during 2011 pre-season testing at Jerez – Spain.

The 3D Polecam was fitted with 2 Toshiba IK-HD1 cameras and 2 x Convergent Design Flash XDR recorders.

Mark operated the 3D rig in the pit lane, on the start line and in the garage capturing previously unseen camera shots really emphasing the flexibility of Polecam.

In fact Polecam is the only camera crane system that can be used in pit lane under race conditions as it does not need a tripod. During test sessions Polecam can be used with a tripod at the discretion of the organisers.

My latest TV series for CBC, that I have recently returned from, is a show called Village on a diet. The entire town of Taylor BC was besieged by camera crew, fitness trainers, doctors, psychologists, chefs and nutritionists in the huge drive to collectively change their lifestyle.

The Village on a diet series is now running on prime time CBC, and the Polecam was used entirely in place of a jib, or crane throughout the entire series!!! Check out the episodes online...

During the summer Chris Taber of Pedestal Television was involved in shooting a brand new fishing series for welsh language producer Telesgop. Using the Fishface underwater housing Chris managed to achieve some spectacular footage from the banks of the River Teifi and IN the River Teifi.

It seems that you can put a Polecam.....anywhere!!
