This year's Cinegear Expo was held on the famous 'New York Street' on the backlot at Paramount Studios in Hollywood CA. More than 120 exhibitors participated and Polecam was there showing off the new Starter Pack system with a Canon DSLR camera mounted at the working end. In addition to the Starter Pack the booth featured a Full Rig sporting a 3D head with 2 Toshiba IK-HD1s and the popular Polecam Stadiumcam - a 170 degree field-of-view single piece camera that can be mounted anywhere you can stick a pack of cigarettes. The gathered cinematographers and camera operators were taken with the new Wide Head and it's 8lb (4kilo) payload capacity - the most popular question hands down was: "Can you put an Red Epic on it?", to which the answer is - we think so - if we could get our hands on one to try it out. Following on from the successful launch of Polecam Starter Pack at NAB in April the versatile and highly cost effective rig aimed at D-SLR users was in action again at CineGear in Los Angeles.

As part of Sky HD's rainforest week a rainforest was constructed on top of the Westfield London Shopping centre, a huge structure which housed tropical trees, plants, animals and insects.
Once the sun had set the atmosphere in the rainforest really came to life and several guests were taken on vip tours. It was important to get every detail right to give the best experience possible - the Polecam was able to capture the guests walking round whilst remaining discrete amongst the trees and plants.
The floor space was very limited due to all the trees but this wasn't a problem because the Polecam's footprint is not much bigger than a standard tripod.

Medcom Corporation, the parent company of Telemetro and RPC Panama has recently acquired 2 Polecam Broadcast systems for use in their sports and entertainment programing. The rigs will be used extensively for football (soccer) coverage behind the net and along the back line for corner kicks as well as for concerts and some original talk show programing. Because the systems are so lightweight and portable when not working at the weekly football games the rigs will live on the mobile truck to add production value to any events covered by the company's mobile units.
